usedquack: (squooshed; duck)
[ACTION: Duck emerges from Ilex Forest, muddy, dishevelled, and dog-tired, leaning on a stick. It's shortly after sundown, and after 10 days in Ilex Forest, all of her pokemon are pretty much exhausted. Even Albrecht is hanging from a branch of Duck's walking stick rather than flapping around excitedly as zubats normally do. And he's the most energetic of the bunch right now.]

Look, Al, we've made it to the clearing! Isn't that nice? [Duck's words might sound cheerful and upbeat but her delivery is deadpan; she doesn't have the energy for anything else. And it's only now that she musters the willpower to look up.] Oh. We made it.

[From the blank look on her face, it hasn't sunk in yet. She takes off her pack and sits down on the side of the road, her zubat settling down on top of her head as she looks back at the entrance to the forest.] Better wait for Ty Lee.

[VIDEO: From what you can see of the background, Duck seems to sitting in front of Kurt's house. She's still dishevelled, to the point where there are twigs and leaves sticking out of her hair, and a smear of mud on her cheek.]

I finally made it to Azalea Town. We got lost, but we finally made it. And just in time, too. I ran out of birdseed just yesterday.

The wild pokemon in Ilex Forest are really tough!
usedquack: (QUAAAA-)
[Good evening, Johto. Have I got a post for you. Duck has been a very busy bird in the past couple of days, but I don't want to obnoxiously spam the community with back-to-back posts, both of which would be backdated in any case. So I'm gonna label each scenario with a letter, so you guys can specify which one you're responding to. Also, you can respond to both scenarios if you want.]

Waaay too much teal deer )
usedquack: (aww I wanted to ride the pony)
[Duck's face looks tired and worn as it appears on the screen. In the background her Pidove is pecking at a pile of breadcrumbs, and her pack is carelessly dumped right beside it.]

Someone told me it was seven day's walk to the next town. Only I kinda ran out of money today and I don't have enough supplies for the journey. [It's obvious she doesn't know what to do.]

[Gurren squawks loudly. Seems a wild Pidgey is muscling in on HIS meal. When it doesn't get the vocal warning and continues pecking, the Pidove attacks his rival with the only move he knows. Gust. Duck drops her device and the camera now only shows blue skies and the canopy of a tree. But Duck can still be heard admonishing her pokemon.]

No don't! You'll blow it away! [A rustle of leaves indicates that Gurren still needs to learn some obedience. A couple of breadcrumbs are blown across the screen. Angry bird cries are heard.]

There, now look what you did! There was plenty for both of you! [It appears Duck is completely ignored, given the angry cries redouble in ferocity. A few more Gusts shake the trees before she finally decides she's had enough.] That does it! Gurren, return!

[She comes back into view with hair messy, covered in twigs and breadcrumbs, holding not one, but two pokeballs.] Shoot, was this on the whole time? [She looks sheepish.] Also I guess I caught my first pokemon.
usedquack: (sheepish laughter)
[There's a lot of shaking around before the camera comes into focus, but when it does, it's an extreme close-up of Duck's freckled face. It's obvious she's never seen a pokegear before, or any kind of camera. Someone offscreen is telling her she doesn't have to be so close. She looks away from the camera - it pans backward. There's a Pidove on her shoulder. She asks the helpful someone.]
Does it really work?

It's working right now. Say something.

[She looks into the camera and waves.] Okay, um. Hi!
...
...

[Aside:] What now?

You said you had something to ask?...

[Her face lights up as she's reminded of why she wrestled with this contraption in the first place.] Oh yeah! Uh, so, I don't really know what's going on right now. It does sound kind of fun, travelling and going on adventures with pokémon. Some of them are pretty cute! But I have a friend who's going to be really worried when he finds I'm gone, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me the way to Gold Crown Town? It's not on the map. It's a small town, but there's a big boarding school where they teach the arts, and music, and ballet. I think it's in Germany.
...

[Something serious has clearly occurred to her. She stops smiling.] Um, there's something else too. I think this might be a story. Has anyone seen a clockwork writing machine?

HOW'S MY DRIVING

If you think my Duck is too OOC, I crave your constructive criticism. Is she too happy? Too sad? Too obsessed with Fakir? Too easily trusting? Too secretive? Does my knowledge of ballet just fail? Let me know. I promise I'll consider it.

Conversely, do you love my portrayal of her? Let me know that, too. I'll try not to let it get to my head.

Have you got something RP-related to say to me that doesn't pertain directly to your opinion on my portrayal of her? You can let me know that here, too.

If you don't want to let me know here, you can contact me at ohsarjalim on aim, and mishisings on plurk, or you can pm my personal DW journal, also called [personal profile] mishisings
